چکیده

In this paper, we deal with a node capacitated in-tree packing problem. The input consists of a directed graph, a root node, a node capacity function and edge consumption functions. The problem is to find the maximum number of rooted in-trees such that the total consumption of in-trees at each node does not exceed the capacity of the node. The problem is one of the network lifetime problems that are among the most important issues in the context of sensor networks. We reveal the computational complexity of the problem under various restrictions on consumption functions and graphs. For example, we consider general graphs, acyclic graphs and complete graphs embedded in the d-dimensional space R having edge consumption functions depending on distances between end nodes.

Lagrangian-based Column Generation for the Node Capacitated In-tree Packing Problem

In this paper, we deal with the node capacitated in-tree packing problem. The input consists of a directed graph, a root node, a node capacity function and edge consumption functions for heads and tails. The problem is to find a subset of rooted spanning in-trees and their packing numbers, where the packing number of an in-tree is the number of times it is packed, so as to maximize the sum of p...

A Node-Flow Model for 1D Stock Cutting: Robust Branch-Cut-and-Price

Branch-and-Cut-and-Price (BCP) algorithms are branch-and-bound algorithms where both row generation (separation) and column generation (pricing) are performed. Following [12], we say that such an algorithm is robust when the separation and pricing subproblems are guaranteed to remain tractable during its execution. Robust BCP algorithms have been devised recently for a variety of problems, havi...

Half-integrality of node-capacitated multiflows and tree-shaped facility locations on trees

In this paper, we establish a novel duality relationship between node-capacitated multiflows and tree-shaped facility locations. We prove that the maximum value of a tree-distance-weighted maximum node-capacitated multiflow problem is equal to the minimum value of the problem of locating subtrees in a tree, and the maximum is attained by a half-integral multiflow. Utilizing this duality, we sho...

A novel heuristic algorithm for capacitated vehicle routing problem

The vehicle routing problem with the capacity constraints was considered in this paper. It is quite difficult to achieve an optimal solution with traditional optimization methods by reason of the high computational complexity for large-scale problems. Consequently, new heuristic or metaheuristic approaches have been developed to solve this problem. In this paper, we constructed a new heuristic ...
